Schedule

DAY 01 (Arrive in Seoul)

Arrive in Seoul at Inchoen International Airport, where you will be met by our representative and transfer to your hotel. Balance of day is free for your own leisure time or rest.

Seoul is a city of contrasts. In this rapidly evolving metropolis, the traditional exists with the modern in a state of
harmony. For over 500 years the seat of Choson Dynasty kings, Seoul is now the beating heart of modern Korea, the
centre to which all else in the country is drawn.

Overnight in Seoul. Dinner if required.

DAY 02 (Seoul)
After breakfast, start in the morning a tour of the city of Seoul, including National Folk Museum, and Kyongbok Palace. Seoul Tower on Mt. Namsan for a view of Metropolitan city of Seoul.
In the afternoon we will visit the Blue House (Presidential Residence), Secret Garden & Changdeok Palace, Insadong and etc.
Overnight in Seoul.

Of all the tourist attractions in Seoul, its Choson Dynasty Palaces and particularly Kyongbuk Palace are the most tangible
link between modern Korea and its not-too-distant monarchical past. Not merely inert relics, they are symbols of a deep
history and rich culture. Although substantially reduced in number, the remaining palace buildings provide a glimpse of
traditional architecture and the overall organization of a palace grounds.

General Yi Song-gye (King T'aejo) ordered the construction of Kyongbok-gung ("Palace of Shining Happiness") in
1934, two years after founding the Choson Dynasty. In its original form, it is said to have had about 500 buildings. For
the next 200 years, Kyongbok-gung was the seat of government and the royal residence of Choson Dynasty kings.
Overnight in Seoul. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 03 (Yongin)
In the morning, we visit the Korean Folk Village where the old traditional style houses and life style of 18th-19th century
are being practiced by people living in the village.
Depart to Everland themepark.
Each season, visitors are treated to a kaleidoscope of flowers festivals like the tulips, rose, lilies or chrysanthemum. For those thrill-seekers, take on the challenge of the Suspended Roller-Coaster, the Amazon Express Water Adventure or the Double-loop & Cork-Screw Coaster.

DAY 04 (Seoul, South Korea - DMZ - Mt Geumgangsan, North Korea)
Today we travel to Mt Geumgangsan.
On November 18, 1998, the Geumgangsan Diamond Mountains Tour was opened to South Koreans for the first time in the fifty years since the South-North demarcation was incised across the nation¡¯s waistline at the 38th parallel.
We check in to our floating hotel with some free time to enjoy hotspring bathing.

NOTE : The North Korea section of our programme is NOT an exclusive Adventures Abroad excursion. For these two
days, we will be travelling with other passengers who are not travelling with Adventures Abroad. Single rooms may NOT
be available for the 2 nights in N Korea. Single supplements can be prorated to reflect sharing for these two nights, if
necessary.

Overnight at Mt Geumgangsan Oceanside area. Haegeumgang Hotel. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 05 (Mt Geumgangsan Area)
Today we will have a walking excursion in this famously scenic area. Our chosen course (Guryongyeon) follows the flow of the valley, through breathtaking rock formations and pools of unbelievably clear water. The walkways are fairly easy
to maneuver and there are guides available to help along the way. Most people average between 4~5 hours for the course,
although those more experienced hikers may only require 1~2 hours. We will take our time and enjoy the marvelous
views. Currently this course is the most popular among visitors to the Diamond Mountains.

Tonight we have a chance to enjoy a local circus show. Overnight at Mt Geumgangsan Oceanside area. Haegeumgang Hotel. Breakfast and dinner.

Geumgangsan Mountains shoot up near the east coast, towering above North Korea 's side of the Demilitarized Zone, the symbol of ideological demarcation. Including the tallest Birobong Peak (1,638m), they stretch 40 kilometers east and west and 60 kilometers south and north, covering 530km©÷. The Buddhist Avatamska Sutra records that the12,000 rugged pinnacles create the miracles of this magnificent sub-range. A total of 12,000 pinnacles offer spectacular views of the marvelous rock formations, valleys, and
waterfalls. This one of a kind scenic spot is one of a kind and is considered the most beautiful mountain range on the
Korean peninsula.
After 50 years of virtual non-travel into the north, the road leading up to North Korea opened allowing tourists to view this amazing mountain range.

DAY 06 (Mt Geumgangsan,- Mt Sorak)
We travel to Mt Sorak through the picturesque countryside. Upon arrival in Mt Sorak we will take a rest and enjoy hotspring pools and sauna.

Overnight Mt Sorak. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 07 (Mt Sorak Area)
Ascend to the summit by cable car (subject to weather conditions). Take a peek at the impressive Kwon Kum Seong Fortress, which commands an excellent view of the Outer Sorak region. Stopover at the ancient Shinheungsa Temple, a historical monument constructed during the Shilla era. Tonight, you will stay the night at Phoenix Park or Dragon Valley YongPyong or similar
(Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner)

This afternoon we proceed to Gosung Unification Observatory located on the borderline with North Korea.

Overnight in Mt Sorak. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 08 (Mt Sorak - Haeinsa)
After breakfast, transfer to Gayasan National Park, here we visit the World Heritage Korean Cultural Treasure called Tripikata Koreana at the Haeinsa Temple. It was made during the Goryo Dynasty to protect the country from the Mongolian troops by Buddha's power.
Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Tripitakana consists of over 80,000 pieces of inscripted wooden plates carved during the Koryo Dynasty. It took more than 15 years to complete this incredible work.

Overnight in Haiensa. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 09 (Haeinsa - Gyeongju)
Today we take a very scenic drive down to Gyeongju passing tiny fishing villages.
We start Gyeongju city tour and visit to the amazing Tumuli Park, Bulguksa temple, Seokguram Grotto, Cheomseongdae, Gyeongju National Museum.and etc.

Gyeongju, as the capital of the Silla Kingdom for almost a thousand years, preserves vast amount of significant and fascinating historical heritages. Along with Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto, the Gyeongju Historical District has been designated as a World Heritage by UNESCO. Due to the bountiful historical, natural and cultural attractions, this region has long been a major tourist destination in Korea.

Around Gyeongju there are hundreds of royal tombs, temples, palace sites, fortress ruins, pagodas and rock sculptures.
Finely crafted gold and silver ornaments, skilfully shaped clay figures and pottery, metal utensils and weapons and an
astonishing number of other objects discovered here are now displayed in the Kyongju museum which we visit. We also
observe scraps of Silla Literature and the legends that are preserved in ancient books and annals.

Overnight in Gyeongju. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 09 (Gyeongju)
A free day to explore Gyeongju by bus, bike or on foot. Mt. Namsan is an area of outstanding natural beauty with many trails leading to ancient tombs, temples and carvings.
The Namsan area of Gyeongju is called the Namsan District. This is where many stone Buddhist statues, stone pagodas and about 100 temples sites are found. Here you can find Poseokjeong Pavillion, which was part of the dwelling the King had prepared outside of the palace for feasts. The Namsan District has many relics spread about the area. You might feel like you took a ride on a time machine to the Buddhist temple of the past.

Overnight in Gyeongju. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 10 (Busan)
Depart for Pusan, Korea's largest port city via Tongdosa Temple. Stay one nights at the Pusan
Pusan has been the principal port of Korea since 1878. Today's Pusan tour includes Pumosa Temple,Taejongdae, Jagalchi Fishery Market, UN Memorial Cemetery, Pusan Tower and Youngdusan Park.

Overnight in Busan. Breakfast and dinner.

DAY 11 (Busan - Seoul)
Return to Seoul and City tour continues to explore more of fasscinating culture or shop (Pulmuwon Kimchi Museum, Coex aquarium, Insadong street & Itaewon market etc.) Bongeunsa temple.
Dinner at the local restaurant.

DAY 12 (Departure)
Whole day at leisure or optional tour before transferring to Incheon Int'l Airport.
for departure.

NOTE: LAND ONLY PASSENEGER MUST ENSURE THAT THEIR FLIGHT FROM SEOUL / INCHEON
ALLOWS FOR THE INCOMING FLIGHT FROM BUSAN. THOSE WITH EARLY FLIGHTS FROM INCHEON
MAY HAVE TO SPEND AN EXTRA NIGHT AT THEIR EXPENSE. (Breakfast.)
